March 7 - National Cereal Day

This just so happens to be one of my absolute favorite days of the year and besides, who doesn't love breakfast?

Find creative ways to celebrate National Cereal Day this year that will still work around your residents’ work schedules. Set up a continental breakfast complete with a cereal bar in the lobby of your property for your residents. Can you think of a better way to kick off a Saturday? We certainly can't.

March 13 - March Madness Begins

Between March Madness, opening day for baseball, and the NBA & NHL seasons being in full swing, it's hard to deny that March is one of the most exciting and eventful months to be a sports fanatic.

With bracketology becoming increasingly popular in the U.S. and abroad, it only makes sense for your residents to get involved and have a bracket challenge. Sport sites like ESPN and CBS Sports are great platforms for setting up your tournament and playing with your residents. Other analytical sites such as FiveThirtyEight and give hardcore basketball fans all the stats they could possibly want when filling out their brackets, otherwise - if you're not an expert - most bracket challenge sites will give quick snapshots of each school to make picking your brackets and teams a breeze.

March 14 - National Pi Day

National Pi Day has taken on a whole new meaning in recent years.

To celebrate this year’s day of Pi(e), set up a community pie exchange at your property and test your residents' cooking abilities. Have a pie taste off and competition to see which one of your residents has what it takes to be a pie-making master. Or better yet - have them give back to the local community by encouraging them to donate the pies to a building-sponsored bake sale and have the funds go to a local charity of their choice.

March 14 - St Patrick's Day

Nope that's not a typo - Pi Day and St Patrick's Day fall on the same day this year and we could not be more excited. Because nothing goes together quite like a piece of pie served with corned beef, right...?

In addition to some scrumptious pies, put out an array of St Patty's themed deserts: shamrock cupcakes, green jello, frosted cookies with green frosting. If your building happens to be rolling out green amenities, having a green themed St Patrick's Day mixer is also the perfect opportunity to make such an announcement to your residents.

March 26 - MLB Opening Day

Many would argue that Opening Day for America's pastime is the real kickoff to the spring season.

To celebrate, gather your residents for an Opening Day watch marathon in your building’s common area or lounge. Stock up on all the snacks and drinks to keep the party going all day. Trouble getting enough interest for a full day’s worth? Not a problem - just send a message to your residents and ask them to gather for a group picture while rocking their favorite jerseys before the kickoff to baseball season.
